Why not, then?

Ouistiti met Mr. Stamp

Since my brother and his wife gave me some wooden printer blocks for Christmas last year, I've had a fascination with them.
I'm not a collector of anything really, but if I was, it would have to be gorgeous, simple, handmade delights such as these.

In fact, anything small and vintage really fills me with delight at the moment, and my favourite place to gush right now is:  http://davidmetnicole.com/

There is so much to drool over. Every birthday till I'm 50 can be satisfied there, easily.
Check out the Letters/Signage and Small Items categories especially.
Oh, did I mention my birthday is at the end of the month?...

Movember

Can I just say that Movember makes my knees weak...

Little known fact...
When I was 26,  I dated a really great guy who had a 70's porn-star mo [true, he was also a great dancer and loved single malt] but since then, I have always had a soft spot for a hairy upper lip on a guy.

So it's no surprise then, having the amazing view I have at work, that I should be in mo heaven at the mo [terrible pun, I know]

Sure there are many men that just shouldn't sport a moustache, but I've spotted more than a few who [in my expert opinion] shouldn't remove them once Movember is over. I've been making a point of telling them too.

Ok, so initially the mo doesn't feel so great on our soft, lady skin, but get it to a certain length, and it's no bother at all.

So to all the men putting up with heckling from their mates, whining from their ladies and weird looks from older family members...I salute you.

Mo's are hot. Full stop. That is all.

Lately

What I've been doing lately...

Playing cards [UNO, Gin Rummy] at the pub on Sunday afternoons.

Playing 20 questions with my work colleague when we're bored.

Picking up tourists.

Patting other peoples dogs...even the unfriendly ones.

Cutting my fringe with nail scissors.

Writing letters and posting them to random addresses...surprise!

Feeding the ducks and other birds, in Rymill park.

Watching the night sky from my back lawn, in the wee hours with special friends [sometimes eating eggs, sometimes toast]

Taking barefoot midnight walks on wet median strips, glass of red in hand...fun!

smiling. till. it. hurts.

What have you been up to?

P is for Polaroid

Looksie what I rediscovered going through old boxes today!

This was given to me by a very special friend, close to ten years ago.

It is one of the best gifts I have ever received [this, and a boxed set of 6 single malt whiskys]

The plan is to source some film for it, then go on a [very expensive] shooting spree soon.

New ink

For some time now, I have been wanting to expand on my tattoo. I've not been in a huge hurry, because, as with the first one, this one has to be just right. I've been on the lookout for the perfect tree silhouette and think I may have found something that comes close. I'm thinking I'll have my bestie [who's an amazing artist], tweak it and fit it in around what I already have.
Can you guess which tree out of these it is?

I also really like the idea of incorporating birds into the image but I suspect, unless I go large enough, they are going to look like small black blobs...not cool.

Soon...

I wonder what it is that is going on in the universe at the moment.
Things seem a bit back-to-front.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining,
I'm just curious.
I've lost my communication skills.
I'm drawn to something different.
My powers are fading.
Friends are becoming acquaintances.
Acquaintances are becoming friends.
Smiles are more powerful and frowns are being ignored.
Yet still,
my life is great.

The Time I...

Right, it's time for a shameless plug for one of my other blogs.

This is a little project I've had going for a while now, but submission numbers have been dwindling. I'll admit, I've been terribly distracted recently and what creative energy I have, has been poured into my personal blog.

If you have a story you'd like to share, feel the need to offload something, or just can't afford therapy anymore, how bout sending your tales to me...

Lesson #1

People often say we look alike, Menue and I.
She teaches me many lessons, [some of which I learn reluctantly]
We like to be serious.
We like to be silly.
We like to hang out at my local cafe, drink coffee and talk about life.
She's turning out to be a great friend.
